Melanotan I
Not FDA approved
Skin and aging
How it works
The same tanning-hormone copy as afamelanotide, switching on MC1R in pigment cells, but sold online in vials as a tanning shot.
What it's made of
It is afamelanotide: 13 amino acids, alpha-MSH with two changes. Melanotan I was its lab name in Arizona; afamelanotide, its name as a drug. The product changes, not the molecule.
What it's for
- Prescribed for
- As a tanning agent, nothing. Only as the Scenesse implant, in erythropoietic protoporphyria.
- Sold as
- A tan without the sun that also protects you from burning.
Educational satire, not medical advice.
