Dulaglutide

How it works

GLP-1 twins bolted to an antibody stem, too big for your kidneys to bin, so they keep insulin flowing when sugar rises, all week long.

What it's made of

Two chains of modified GLP-1 (90% the same as the human one) joined to the tail of an antibody (IgG4). The changes hold off the enzyme DPP-4, and the size keeps it in the blood for days.

What it's for

Prescribed for
Type 2 diabetes from age 10 and, in adults with diabetes and cardiovascular risk, to reduce heart attacks, strokes and cardiovascular death.

Educational satire, not medical advice.
